At Alberta Children Place, an early childhood teacher is a professional who is the facilitator of play and learning experiences, a learning partner with children in their quest for learning, and a partner with families (as described by Deitze & Kasin). We strongly view the teacher as a sensitive and caring individual who is a co-learner, co-researcher and co-imaginer (FLIGHT).

Our Educators are very qualified and certified early childhood educators with L1, L2 and L3 certificates. They have a valid first-aid certificate.

Also, we follow a rigorous interview process and background check before hiring. A criminal record check is a mandatory process at Alberta Children Place. Educator with a clean criminal record check is only hired.

Our educators know their work and are willing to take responsibility. They know the work of an Early childhood Educator is not equal to babysitting. They are evolving continuously and keeping themselves up to date by attending training and other workshops in the field related to early childhood Education.
